Fun Times...

The weather was beautiful today so we took a quick little wagon ride.
Later, Will and Mary Raines sat at the table and "played cars". Will didn't mind sharing cars with her, as long as he designated which car she could have...

Zzzzzz....

Whew! That Will is a MACHINE!! I am worn out trying to keep up with him!

The inevitable bathtub picture

Probably to resurface during their dating years...

Morning at the Museum

Today we met our playgroup at the kid's science museum. Will always has a blast here looking at all the animals, playing on the drums, and building towers with blocks. Mary Raines loved watching all the big kids playing!

We kidnapped a cutie pie!

At the end of Matt's vacation, we drove to Virginia to help his cousin, Kasey, and her family move. Will loved playing with his cousin, Mary Raines. He especially loved her PINK Jeep! We had so much fun with her that we talked Beau and Kasey into letting us bring her back home with us while they finish unpacking! We came back last night and we hope she will stay with us until Wednesday. She is doing fine, but her mom and dad miss her bunches! This is her first trip away from them. I will be posting lots of pictures of her over the next few days to show her mom and dad how much fun she is having!
Here they are in their PJs ready for some bedtime stories.

The party's over.... :(

Matt went back to work after his long vacation. We had such a great time while he was off. We stayed around here for most of the time and did stuff around the house. We converted our formal living room into a playroom so that all the toys can be centralized. It turned out great and Will loves it! Will did a pretty good job of occupying himself while we worked on the playroom. One afternoon he sat in his room and I think he looked at every book he owns!

The Finer Things in Life

My mom sent Matt a ball of MS State cheese for Valentine's Day. Let me repeat that....MY mom sent MATT some cheese. What is wrong with this picture? Anyway, he was instructed to share (and he has) so now Will is experiencing the finer things in life...that is fine Edam cheese straight from Starkville. There is nothing like this cheese! I am not kidding! It is enough to bring the SEC together in agreement. I have known staunch Auburn and Alabama fans to rave together over this cheese. OK, enough about the cheese, but really, you should try it...it's good.
Here's Will giving his best "CHEESE!".

Happy Birthday Katie!

Today is my sister-in-law's birthday, so Will sent her his own greeting.

Happy Valentine's Day!

At our house, we celebrate Valentine's on the 15th. Why, you ask? It all started when Matt and I were dating and he had a huge test on the 15th, so we couldn't go out on the night of the 14th. When Matt realized that the cost of roses/chocolates/cards/restaurant specials goes down dramatically after the real heart day, he decided that celebrating on the 15th was an excellent idea! He disguises it by saying how "special" it is for us to have the 15th all to ourselves as our very own Valentine's day. I'm no dummy...I know that he's all about the 1/2 price love. :) So each year, I patiently wait until the 15th for my chocolates.
Will was a traditionalist and celebrated on the 14th. He exchanged Valentines with his friends at Mother's Day Out. He came home with his bag of Valentines and he was SO proud! I can't believe he is old enough to give/receive Valentines!
I have the two best Valentines in the world! I love my guys!

Vacationing in the Piedmont

Matt has TWO WHOLE WEEKS of vacation! We decided to stay home and do stuff around here, so we just say we are "vacationing in the Piedmont". Makes home sound a lot more exciting. "Uncle Wes" came and visited for a few days. He taught Will some new tricks like saying "Uh-Oh S(pa)ghetti-O's", "Click Clack" from Under Armor/Auburn commercials, and how to throw his plate (WITH FOOD) like a frisbee. That's right, "Uncle Wes" is grounded.
Tuesday, we all went to a science museum (not as boring as it sounds). There were lots of cool animals there. Will really liked the turtles and butterflies. He kept calling the dinosaurs "elephants". There was a group of seniors (as in citizens) who were visiting and at one point, they all gathered around Will and he had to show them where the frogs were because they couldn't see them!

Love is in the Air

Sorry for my delay in posts...Will and I made a quick trip home for the funeral of a very dear family member, Miss Betty. Some of you may know or remember her, and if so, you may want to visit the blog set up for her and leave a post for her husband.
http://missbettyhaynes.blogspot.com
It was a good, albeit quick, trip home. It was good to see a lot of family members.

Thursday, Will had his friend, Ethan, over to make Valentines. Needless to say, they would rather have played with trains than sit at the table, but I did manage a quick picture.
We went to another Valentine making party on Friday with LOTS of neighborhood kids. I took several pictures, but sadly just realized that none of them included my own child!!! Again, he was much more interested in the toys than the hearts.

Saturday, Will started feeling bad and running a fever. I think he had the "cuddle bug" virus because all he wanted to do was snuggle up with his mommy on the couch. I felt really bad for him...but I did enjoy having him sit still in my lap for more than 5 minutes! We watched a Winnie the Pooh Valentine special on TV while Matt went to a chocolate Valentine party that we were all invited to. For those of you who know me well, you know I must REALLY love my child if I stayed home from a CHOCOLATE party for him! :) When Matt came home, he asked Will if he wanted to watch the Duke basketball game and Will said, "No, watch Pooh!". Of course, this was very disappointing for Matt to hear. The funny thing is that I don't know when Will has ever even seen Pooh! We have nothing Pooh in our house nor have we ever watched Pooh until last night. Matt said that kids are born with an inherent knowledge of Pooh. I think so...

P.S. Will is better today. Think it must have been a stomach bug.
