Girls Weekend!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go back to MS for my Grandmother's birthday party. However, Catherine and I made a girls' trip the next weekend to visit with Nana.

Catherine enjoyed her first flight and was a good, good girl on the way to MS!

"Daddy lets me buy all the premium channels..."

Biscoff, anyone?

We were able to have supper with my brother and nephews Friday night. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture because Catherine had a lovely post-flight meltdown. Better on land than in the air!!

On Saturday, we spent the day with my grandparents and had a really special day.

Of course, we enjoyed the company the most, but this was a bonus for our visit! This was our lunch on Saturday!

My grandparents' house has always been one of my favorite places to go. So glad we could make a visit...even if it was short.

Saturday night, I was able to catch up with my college roommate, Rebecca, for a fun night. We had dinner and then went cruising in my mom's convertible. :) We talked for 3 hours and I'm pretty sure we could've kept going!

While I was out, the Princess enjoyed being the only grandchild with Pop Pop and Nanni. Think she's going to be spoiled??

We had a great time AND we brought back the best souvenir...
NANNI!!!

In case you're wondering where all the boys were...

They stayed home with Matt, who took them on a backyard campout. Way to go, SuperDad!

Happy Birthday Nana!

Today is a big birthday for my beautiful Nana!

Most of the family got together to celebrate with her last weekend. We weren't able to be there, but we joined in virtually!

Nana is a true Southern belle, classic in every way, and most important, a godly woman. I'm so thankful she's my grandmother!

Pop Pop Visits!

As I mentioned, my dad came up for a quick visit. All the guys took a day trip up to New York, then Pop Pop spent Friday with us exploring our town (and fixing a few things around the house!)

We really enjoyed our quick visit and of course, we had some silly time!

Fox Family Visit

We were thrilled to have the Fox family come visit from Ohio! We love this family so much. They were some of our dearest neighborhood friends. We truly leaned on each other many times during the past year.

We did lots of fun things during their visit, including a Duck Tour.

All the kids (and adults) really enjoyed it.

Best Buddies: Brian and Will

We capped of the night with a great meal at one of our favorites, Legal Seafood.
We miss the Foxes terribly and hope to get together again soon!

NC Company

We were thrilled to have a quick visit from our good friends from North Carolina, Todd and Rae. They were passing thru on their way back from a vacation before their baby girl arrives in November.

We met in the city for the afternoon and had a great time enjoying pizza, cannolis, and time at the splash pad (for the boys).

James was intrigued by Todd. Perhaps he was trying to figure out his beard!

They don't remember, but the boys stayed with Todd and Rae several times in order to give Matt and I a night out. It was such a nice treat for Matt and me. Wish we could return that favor to them now!

We sure did enjoy seeing these great friends!

Olympic Playdate

Inspired by the Olympics, the boys and I decided to host an Olympic playdate. We invited some of our new friends over for some friendly competition. All of the kids really got into it. They played the Olympic theme song on my iPad and different national anthems on Will's smartglobe.

Medals were hanging on the door to greet the kids!

One of the favorite activities was running around the yard and passing off the torch.

We had several different events from fencing (light saber fights)...

 To relays...

And of course, the medal ceremony was a big hit!

And just to keep it real, I had to laugh when I saw this picture. Apparently Will highjacked my camera and I'm pretty sure this was toward the end of the playdate. I was a tired event planner!! HA!

Baseball Highlights from Summer

When it comes to baseball, the boys have had a terrific summer.
First, Will attended Red Sox baseball camp. On one of the days, the campers took a field trip to Fenway Park where they got a VIP tour, got to try on the World Series rings, see the World Series trophies, and meet Nick Punto (who has now been traded to the Dodgers).

Earlier this month, Will and Matt went to the Red Sox vs. Rangers game. Will has been a big Rangers fan for the past 3 years so he went all decked out in his Rangers gear. Matt was just shaking his head.
It worked out in Will's favor. He got to meet Josh Hamilton!

Then last week, Matt was given tickets to the Rangers at Yankees game. The boys all went up for the day and my dad even came up and joined them!

They got to meet Mitch Moreland, Will's favorite player and a Mississippi boy!

No matter who you cheer for, it's pretty cool to visit Yankee Stadium!
Now if I can just convince these boys that this has been an extraordinary experience to get to meet all these players and not the norm!

Happy Campers

The boys spent last week at camps and had a great time!

Will attended an official Red Sox camp. I think the camp was great for him.
They worked the boys hard and they got to do a lot of fun activities. Will was a team captain on Tuesday. He was given a list of activities/chores that he could do to help out at home as part of being a team captain. (At this point, I thought this was the best camp EVER!)

On Thursday, they toured Fenway Park and met a famous player (Nick Punto).

Andrew spent a few days at swim camp. If nothing else, I think he should have gotten the coolest camper award!

He only went a few days, but I already see some improvement.
Bug-eyes...

 Happy Camper!

It's a good thing there is a cute smile at the end of this path of destruction...

The people have spoken...

In the six years of this blog existence, I have announced pregnancies, births, major moves, and many other exciting things. But I don't think I have ever received the amount of feedback as I did for… the milkman.

The people have spoken, and I do not want to disappoint. I'm happy to report that we are now receiving weekly milk deliveries.

Just like in the "old timey times".
