My Boy Is Obsessed With Jerseys

Because the temp on the car said this:

I told Andrew that it was too cold to sleep in his basketball jersey. He was heartbroken. So he asked for a compromise.

(Thanks Uncle Lu, Aunt Katie, and Cousin Nash for the uniform. Andrew is definitely getting your $ out of it!)

Celebrating Another Terrific Year

I had the best birthday weekend. My birthday was fantastic. The sun was shining (definitely a treat in January), I heard from friends and family all day, and Matt returned after being out of town for several days.

The boys closed their door while getting dressed and when they came out, they were so excited to show me their outfit choices for the day. Go Bulldogs, in honor of Mom!

Since Matt was out of town, he and Will worked out a deal that Matt would call and order my cake, and Will would to handle the pickup. Of course, I had to be involved in the pickup as the driver, but Will took care of the details when we arrived at the bakery.

The boys did an excellent job picking out a cake. It was a cassata, straight from Little Italy. Yummmm!

Will made a present for me earlier in the week and was so excited about giving it to me. As I was opening, he said, "Mom, you are going to LOVE it!"

And I do! A picture of Mississippi State's football field! :)

Matt did a great job on my present too. An adorable new dress...bring on Spring!

Saturday night, Matt and I joined some friends for a Viking Cooking Class.

It was so much fun! Doesn't he look good in an apron?

Yep, it was a pretty fun birthday.

Kids Say the Funniest Things...

Will's prayer's tonight: "Dear God, Thank you for making me funny..."

(Well, he is! He had just come down in the craziest concoction of PJs you can imagine. I doubled over laughing at him...and he loved it. He was so proud that he got a good laugh out of me!)

One day last week, Will asked me if the sun was going to come up. It was 8:00 AM and while technically the sun had risen, I could definitely see his point. We're in the midst of dark and dreary snow season here!

The other day when I was ironing and Andrew asked me if I was getting the "aches" out of the shirt. I think he meant "wrinkles", but he does have a point..."aches" usually are associated with wrinkles.

Another day, when I asked him who made Andrew, he said, "God did! With his SUPER DUPER powers!" LOVE his enthusiasm!

Tonight at bedtime: "Mom, how will Jesus get us up to heaven? Maybe he has a rope and will just pull us up. OR, I HAVE AN IDEA! Maybe he has a big pumper to get us up there!"

An AUsome birthday present!

Today Matt and Will headed to sunny Arizona for their BIG birthday presents--a trip to the BCS National Championship game to see Auburn vs. Oregon. I hope they have fun on their "duck hunt" and come back happy!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Today is Matt's BIG birthday! He was able to come home from work early (just a coincidence, not a hospital policy!) and spend some fun time with the boys. Then he and I went to Lola's, a Michael Symon (Iron Chef) restaurant that we've been wanting to go to since we've been here. We had a great night and the food was spectacular! Of course, since we didn't have any kids with us, we didn't take a camera-so no pictures of us!

However, his big birthday gift is coming soon...and I know there will be LOTS of pictures...
